Rosie the much loved Spaniel

Shannon got in touch with me on Facebook to ask about a Portrait as a surprise Birthday present for her dad. This is the lovely Rosie who sadly died some years back but as well as being a much loved pet she was also the Mother of two other dogs that they have had so she really has meant a lot to the family.

Shannon sent over a collection of photos of Rosie for me to work from, although sometimes it can be hard to work from old photos Shannon was able to describe some of Rosies characteristics and features to me which really helps me to ensure the portrait captures their personality as well as I can.

As I mentioned this was commissioned as a surprise and when the painting had arrived Shannon sent me a message to let me know that her Dad was over the moon, it's always great to hear when a surprise present goes down well!
