Painting working dogs is a fantastic experience, living on the farm and living in the countryside in Dorset means I am surrounded by many dogs that cannot be classed as pets, but are no less loved and cared for. I have seen how a dog can thrive and enjoy life to the fullest whether they are working as sheep dogs on the farm, as retrievers on a shoot or in a pack on a hunt. I do understand that this can be an emotive subject so my focus remains on the welfare of the dog and this comes through, I hope, in my art as I paint dogs of all working breeds that are doing what their instincts tell them to do.
I have connections with may countryside groups and clubs where I will donate a percentage of the commission back to the organisation. If you have come to me from one of these, please state so on my order form so I can make the arrangements.
