Cassie the Collie

The Rough Collie (or Lassie as I like to refer to them) are wonderful to paint due the variations in colour of their coats, I have been commissioned to paint the sable and white variety and wait in in anticipation for a Merles or a Tri-Coloured.  Being a artist that specialises in Oil is perfect for the Rough Collie as oils bring through vibrant colours so well on a plain canvas, accentuating the colour of the coat which is what makes this dog such a great model.  Apart from that they had an absolutely lovely temperament and like the Boarder Collie, really very intelligent which is a characteristic of their herding heritage.
