Paddy is one of the adorable dogs I was asked to paint following the Woofstock event back in September. Obviously I enjoy painting every commission but this was a particular favourite!
This oil on canvas painting is about A2 size so definitely makes a statement, but think it really captures Paddy's cheeky character.
I was lucky enough to meet Paddy at Woofstock and although it may sound odd it definitely helps me when I'm doing the painting.
By meeting the dog even briefly you can get to know their personality better which really helps when it comes to the painting and as all dog owners out there will agree every dog is completely unique in their own way, so if I can capture some of that character and personality in the painting that's what makes it a success.
Well that's enough blogging for me today I'm off to paint a horse, another great Christmas commission!
